| Since 2006, National Hunger Awareness Day has raised awareness about the
solvable problem of hunger in Canada.
On June 2nd 2009, food banks across the country will host events to
tell the story of the work they do, and the stories of hungry Canadians assisted by food
banks.
Hunger in Canada can be alleviated. You can play a part in
reducing hunger on Hunger Awareness day by volunteering at your local food bank, donating
food and funds, talking to your government representative, holding an awareness event in
your community, or spreading the word that you think hunger is at an unacceptable level in
Canada.
